Cutting – Joining – Fastening

When the experts speak in terms of thermal cutting and joining where welding is concerned, this only conditionally reflects actual practice in modern sheet metal, pipe and profile processing. In most applications, several technologies and processes are used to assemble sheet metal, pipe and profile components into modules, apparatus and base frames – namely thermal as well as mechanical cutting and stamping technologies, and welding / laser welding / hard soldering as well as screwing, riveting and clinching processes. Only in this way, for example, can greatly varying materials (hybrid components made of steel-aluminium combinations etc.) be assembled into lightweight design elements with high load carrying capacities which, at the same time, are weight-optimised.
