Modern lightweight design would be inconceivable without a diverse material mix! And this leads to new challenges with regard to manufacturing and fastening technology. A further challenge results from increasing functional integration where assemblies made of sheet metal, pipe and profile components are involved. Dogmatic adherence to conventional technologies and processes will be replaced by pragmatic openness. And thus greatly varying technologies and processes are used flexibly in accordance with prevailing requirements in one and the same assembly, which can be implemented either in monoblock (as a single piece) or segmental design (comprised of several components), and into which functional elements are also incorporated (weld nuts, piercing nuts, bolts, clips).
