Exhibitors and expert visitors have long since saved the date: the 14th Blechexpo and the 7th Schweisstec will focus on outstanding process competence for the processing of sheet metal, pipe and profiles from the 5th through the 8th of November, 2019. It’s already plainly apparent that the two complementary industry events will break several records: exhibitor numbers will approach 1500 and booked booth floor space has increased by 15%! Exhibitor internationalism is also on the rise: as compared with 2017, bookings and reservations from foreign countries near and far have even doubled!
New Dimensions in November
The Blechexpo/Schweisstec trade fair duo presents comprehensive product and service offerings covering all aspects of thermal and mechanical processing of sheet metal, pipe and profiles, as well as welding, joining and fastening technologies. The time-tested technical event takes place once every two years and is one of the industry’s most highly regarded highlights. Together with Blechexpo/Schweisstec project manager Georg Knauer, trade fair promoters P. E. Schall are preparing for new dimensions this year just a few weeks before the trade fair opens: more exhibitors, more floor space and more internationalism than two years ago!
Breaking the Records from 2017
A total of roughly 1500 exhibitors will set the tone at Blechexpo-Schweisstec in nine exhibition halls in Stuttgart, which represents an increase of more than 150 primary exhibitors. The 15% increase in floor space corresponds to the addition of roughly 1¼ exhibition halls. Bookings and reservations from foreign countries near and far have even doubled as compared with 2017 – a full year before trade fair opening day, the figures from 2017 for technology companies from Italy, China, Turkey and Spain had already been exceeded. The record-breaking numbers achieved in 2017 will be topped this year. The reason for this boom is the strictly practice-oriented concept of the trade fair duo: Blechexpo-Schweisstec covers all relevant issues and trends with relevance for the digitalised, automated world of sheet metal processing and metalworking.
Sheet Metal Dominates in Machinery Manufacturing
As a structural material – along with pipe and profile materials – sheet metal is a common alternative to cast iron, steel and plastic constructions. FEM-optimised lightweight design and modular component systems characterise the image of modern vehicle, machinery and equipment manufacturing and reduce material consumption, weight and costs. Not least of all for this reason, special emphasis is placed upon precision cutting, stamping and forming of steel, aluminium and non-ferrous sheet metal at Blechexpo and Schweisstec. Expert visitors are presented with solutions and systems covering all aspects of pre and final processing, as well as module assembly and surface finishing for sensitive, visible components. The issues of lightweight design, design engineering solutions, handling, quality assurance, automation and digitalisation in sheet metal processing and joining technology are also dealt with extensively.
Blechexpo Expert Meet and Knowledge Transfer
In cooperation with the trade fair promoters, stahlnews.de GmbH & Co. KG will organise the 4th Stahlnews Expert Meet on the evening of the first day of the trade fair on 5 November 2019 beginning at 6:15 p.m., in order to promote a beneficial exchange of ideas. This event will be held in keeping with the motto: “The Steel Industry in Times of Globalisation and Industry 4.0”. Renowned and internationally recognised industry insiders will hold presentations. The event is targeted at specialists from the steel and sheet metal processing industry sector, operators of steel service centres and steel distributors with their own prefabricating centres. Further representatives of renowned companies will hold brief presentations on the following day at the Blechexpo Forum. ZVEI’s Schweisstec Day will take place on the 7th of November, 2019. Participation at the meet will provide expert visitors with an extensive knowledge update.
