DPS Software introduces the new version of TopsWorks 2023. TopsWorks is a solution for the sheet metal process chain that is integrated in SOLIDWORKS and harmonises perfectly with the TruTops series from TRUMPF. In addition to some performance improvements, the TBS calculation module from TRUMPF is used for the first time.

In addition to compatibility with SOLIDWORKS 2023, the new 2023 version now also supports TRUMPF TruTops Boost Version 14 and 15 as well as TruTops Classic Version 12.

With the new version, the TBS (TruBendingSimulation) calculation module from TRUMPF is used for the first time, which provides even more precise shortening values and makes additional materials available.

TBS for the CAD plugin TopsWorks enables a continuous process chain with regard to the bending technology data from the design to the finished part. TopsWorks adapts the 3D model so that it corresponds exactly to the later real sheet metal part. It uses its own shortening values or TRUMPF's shortening values. This means that the exact shortening values and bending radii from TruTops Boost can already be used in the design. This saves time and eliminates the need for complex adjustments.

The subsequent export in TRUMPF's own GEO format makes it easier to transfer it to the sheet metal bending machine. If punchings are to be introduced, TopsWorks will also provide support here. With the help of the SOLIDWORKS library feature and form tools, sheet metal forming and punchings can be placed in 3D and thus mapped in GEO format and carried out on your own machines as processing patterns. When creating production drawings, TopsWorks can insert a bend table that contains production-relevant information and thus supports production.

TopsWorks has a programming interface (API) with which TopsWorks can be integrated into customer-specific process flows.
