Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2025 Bending Into the Home Stretch

In roughly six weeks, the top players in sheet metal working and joining technology will meet at Blechexpo/Schweisstec in Stuttgart. The autumn event, taking place from 21 to 24 October 2025, will once again set an industry milestone with nine full exhibition halls, exciting innovations for the “best Award 2025”, an attractive supplementary programme and Career Friday.
“We’re bending into the home stretch,” announces Georg Knauer, Blechexpo/Schweisstec project manager at trade fair promoters P. E. Schall. “Well over a thousand exhibitors have already booked their booth floor space. We’re still processing additional RFQs every day. Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2025 will once again build upon its customary success and demonstrate major global significance with its high levels of internationality.” And thus once more this year, the industry will experience a trailblazing event for the future of sheet metal processing at the 17th Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal working, together with the 10th Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology.
Nine Packed Exhibition Halls, High Levels of Internationality, Clear-Cut Thematic Structure
The trade fair duo unites two key production technologies and the clear-cut thematic structure makes it possible for expert visitors to discover systems covering the entire value chain at a single location. The topics dealt with by Blechexpo/Schweisstec range from thermal and mechanical sheet metal processing, along with system peripherals including controllers and software, as well as solutions for handling and feeding, right on up to quality assurance. “Companies are concerned primarily with increasing their efficiency,” says the project manager. Rising cost pressure and the ongoing shortage of skilled personnel continue to fuel further automation. In addition to sheet metal working itself, the integration of peripherals is also becoming increasingly important,” says Knauer. Consequently, exhibitors will also be including feed and discharge systems in their exhibits, as well as cobots and quality assurance solutions.
The trade fair promoters offer a clear-cut layout for the exhibition halls in order to provide expert visitors with the best possible, most efficient overview: sheet metal, pipe and profile processing will be located in halls 1, 3, 5 and 7. Halls 4 and 6 are reserved for stamping technologies. Cutting, joining and fastening technologies will be presented in hall 9. Hall 8 will focus on pressing and forming technologies. Steel and metal services, as well as surface finishing technology, will be addressed in hall 10. “This clear-cut thematic structure has proven its worth in practice and brings distinct benefits to everyone involved,” emphasises Georg Knauer. “In this way, expert visitors gain a comprehensive overview of their respective interests, enabling them to compare and assess various options. They find the right answers to their questions and make the most of their visit to the trade fair.”
“best Award 2025” with Future-Oriented Solutions for Sheet Metal Working and Joining Technology
The results of the “best Award” are being eagerly awaited … final entries are now being received. “We’re very pleased with the tremendous interest demonstrated in this competition,” says Georg Knauer. This innovation engine has become a traditional feature of Blechexpo/Schweisstec’s supplementary programme and will set new standards in terms of advancement, transformation and the future in five different categories, namely sheet metal, pipe and profile processing; pressing and forming technologies; stamping technologies; cutting, joining and fastening technologies; as well as steel and metal services and surface finishing technologies. The independent expert jury will select the winners in each category and present them with their awards at the end of the first day of the trade fair at 4 p.m. on the 21st of October, 2025. Members of the expert jury include Annedore Bose-Munde, technical editor for business and technology, Dr. Ing. Maximilian Hausmann, manager of automation and electric welding equipment at ZVEI, Heinz Wöllmer, technology planner at the Siemens equipment manufacturing facility in Amberg, Germany, Erich Utz, also from the Siemens equipment manufacturing facility, Robin Kurth, group leader for forming machines and project manager at the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU, and Frauke Finus, senior editor of blechnet and editor of MM Maschinenmarkt at the Vogel Communications Group.
Technical Presentations and Career Day Provide Fresh Inspiration
The topics covered by Blechexpo/Schweisstec are focussed clearly on the future. The trade fair seeks to provide practical solutions to the challenges being faced by the industry. Renowned experts will speak at the opening press conference on the topic of “AI in Sheet Metal Working: to What Extent Does it Support Automation and Process Chaining?”. During all four trade fair days, a daily presentation forum provides an ideal platform for the direct transfer of knowledge and personal networking. Finally, Career Friday will focus on insights, contacts and future career opportunities on the 24th of October, 2025: in keeping with the motto “Shape Your Dreams, Metal Your Future”, exhibitors and the trade fair promoters are inviting pupils, students, teachers, university representatives and young professionals to come out and discover technologies and future opportunities in the sheet metal working industry. Participants will be able to meet with industry experts, ask questions, experience technology and explore potential career paths during guided tours at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. This campaign is the ideal opportunity for getting acquainted with various work situations and establishing direct personal contacts with companies. “We focus on organising a practical and efficient working trade fair in a pleasant atmosphere,” emphasises the project manager. “Exhibitors and expert visitors are looking forward to a personal exchange of ideas at our industry highlight, Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2025, to which you are cordially invited!
